What is PolyU International Student Exchange?
The PolyU International Student Exchange is a programme designed for PolyU undergraduates to broaden their global outlook, experience a different culture in another country while fulfilling the academic requirements of their degrees at PolyU.
This credit bearing exchange offers you maximum flexibility and exchanges can last from six weeks to one academic year in duration. You may either exchange in semester one or two, or the summer semester. Most importantly, the credits earned overseas are transferable to the programme of your current degree. The exchange does not require extra tuition fee but you will need to continue to pay for your tuition fee at PolyU. Sponsorships are available to those who meet the requirements.
For the exchange, you can choose from our list of partner universities across 26 countries and the diverse range of programmes they offer. Each year, we receive 550 international students at PolyU and we arrange an equivalent number of PolyU students abroad. For the programme, we are looking for students who strive to be global citizens and possess the potential to be good ambassadors for PolyU. Our selection criteria include:
- Full time undergraduate students with good academic standing.
- Fluency in English and ideally the language used at your proposed study destination.
- Excellent performance in your interview.
After the exchange, you will need to complete a post-exchange report and arrange for your credit-transfer approval letter. In addition, you will also need to attend debriefing and sharing session, and most importantly, to be a peer advisor for other outbound students in the future.
