We nurture global leaders with an international perspective, offering them whole range of learning opportunities outside the classroom including academic exchanges, international internships, training and study trips.

In 2017/18, over 650 PolyU students spent one or two semesters at one of our 230 exchange partner institutions in 37 countries. A similar number of students from more than 50 countries and regions came to PolyU. In addition, 85 PolyU students went on exchanges in the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

During the exchange programme, I broadened my horizons and made new friends from different countries. Studying abroad enhanced my understanding of how information technology helps various sectors, and I decided to be a system analyst so I can contribute to society after graduation.

Being able to experience the culture in Scotland and education in University of Strathclyde was a fruitful experience for me. The cultural difference was eye-opening and it allowed me to learn more knowledge and make new friends. While it is cold in Glasgow, the people and events were vibrant and warm enough to make up for it.

With the aim of nurturing students to become responsible ethical leaders with global vision, PolyU has implemented various international interdisciplinary leadership programmes, including the SOAR Youth Leadership Programme in the Chinese mainland, Israel and Kyrgyzstan in collaboration with the Peking and Xi’an Jiaotong Universities; and the China-Japan-Korea SERVE.

PolyU is the only university in Hong Kong to include a mandatory Work-Integrated Education component for full-time undergraduate students. The programme provides students with real-life work experience before graduation. In addition to local internships, opportunities are offered in over 30 countries or regions.

An international learning experience can have a huge influence on student development. Your donation will enable more students to broaden their horizons and experience different cultures.
