On 25 September, PolyU’s Institute of Advanced Executive Education and the School of Accounting and Finance co-organized a symposium entitled “Chinese companies: have they been and are they profitable”. With the renowned Prof. James Ohlson, Professor of Accounting of New York University, as the speaker, the symposium examined whether Chinese companies have been profitable from investors’ perspective.

The talk was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Frederick Ma, Professor of Practice (Finance), PolyU. Also on the panel was Prof. Agnes Cheng, Head of PolyU’s School of Accounting and Finance. Some 50 executives in accounting, banking and finance sectors participated in this symposium.
