On 24 September, PolyU hailed the topping-out of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower which is located at the northeastern tip of the university campus. Upon its completion by mid 2013, the new premises will be home to PolyU’s School of Design (SD) and the newly established Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation.

Officiating at the event were The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Chairman Mr T. Brian Stevenson; PolyU Council Chairman Ms Marjorie Yang Mun-tak; former Council Chairman Mr Victor Lo; PolyU President Prof. Timothy W. Tong and Dean of SD Prof. Cees de Bont.

As the first permanent architecture by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid in Hong Kong, the 15-storey Tower will house a lecture hall, classrooms, design studios and workshops as well as a design museum, exhibition space and a communal viewing lounge. Details>>
