"Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni 2010" planting event will be held at North District Park, Sheung Shui on 7 November (Sunday). Jointly organized by PolyU, the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, this event aims to unite the efforts of all PolyU alumni to contribute towards the community and the betterment of our environment. We target to mobilize 1,000 alumni, their family and friends to join the event! Other than planting activities, participants will also enjoy other programmes like games, exhibition and entertainment.

Time: 9:30am – 1:30pm

Same as previous years, this year's planting event also aims to raise funds for The Community Chest of Hong Kong and PolyU.

While participants are encouraged to use public transport to go to the event venue, shuttle buses will also be arranged to pick up participants at PolyU Campus and Kowloon Tong MTR Station

  Registration
 

Registration is closed already.

Registration fee: A donation of HK$120 or above for each participant (Each fee-paying participant can bring a child aged 12 or below for FREE)

Notes of Registration:

1. Registration will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.  Souvenirs will be given to the first 200 successful applicants.
2. All participants will receive participant pass and information about event arrangement by the end of October (please refer to registration form for other details).
3. Each participant listed in the registration form will redeem a cap and a snack box on event day with his / her "Participant Pass".
4. Please keep a copy of completed registration form for future reference.

  Background Information
  Award:
"Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni"  planting event was awarded the "Grand Gold Medal" and the "Gold Medal" in the "Alumni Relations Programme" Category among 67 entries submitted from tertiary institutions around the world for the "2005 Circle of Excellence Award Programme" organized by the "Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)".  PolyU was the first institution from Hong Kong to receive such honours.


 
  Logo:
The event logo of the "Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni" was designed by Mr Charles NG Chau-chuen, who graduated from PolyU's School of Design. The logo represents the spirit of  unity of PolyU alumni and their joint efforts in building a "greener" environment for the Hong Kong community. Special thanks for Mr Charles NG for his valuable contributions.

  Bad Weather Arrangement
  If typhoon signal no. 3 or above, or the red / black rainstorm warning signal is issued at 7:00am on 7 November 2010 (Sunday), the event will be cancelled and no refund of registration fee / donation will be made.
