PROGRAMME


"Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni 2009" tree-planting event will be held at Yuen Long Park on 29 November (Sunday). Jointly organized by PolyU, the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, this event aims to unite the efforts of all PolyU alumni to contribute towards the community and the betterment of our environment. We target to mobilize 1,000 alumni, their family and friends to join the event! Other than planting activities, refreshments, fun games and entertainment will also be arranged.

As in previous years, this year's greening event also aims to raise funds for the needy. All net surpluses will be donated to support The Community Chest of Hong Kong and future development of PolyU. Registration fee/minimum donation per person is HK$120. Each participant can bring 1 child aged 12 or below for FREE.

Participants are encouraged to use public transport to the event venue. Shuttle buses will also be arranged to pick up participants at several locations. Please refer to the registration form for further details.



"Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni"  tree-planting event was awarded the “Grand Gold Medal” and the “Gold Medal” in the “Alumni Relations Programme” Category among 67 entries submitted from tertiary institutions around the world for the “2005 Circle of Excellence Award Programme” organized by the “Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)”.PolyU was the first institution from Hong Kong to receive such honours.

MEANING OF GREENING EVENT LOGO

The event logo of the "Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni" was designed by Mr Charles Ng Chau Chuen, who graduated from PolyU's School of Design. The logo represents the spirit of  unity of PolyU alumni and their joint efforts in building a "greener" environment for the Hong Kong community.
