ULS Demo: Cell Xelence Spinning Disk combined Label-Free Dual Modality Microscope

The University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS) is organizing a seminar on the Cell Xelence Spinning Disk + Label-Free Dual Modality Microscope, developed by CSR Biotech.   Cell Xelence is an advanced dual-modality imaging platform that combines spinning disk fluorescence imaging with label-free Optical Diffraction Tomography (ODT). The system supports sequential or simultaneous Spin + ODT imaging, enabling high-speed volumetric imaging and multi-channel live cell imaging applications. With AI-guided autonomous multi-phase imaging and proprietary “SACD” deconvolution, the platform provides enhanced imaging performance with resolution down to 120 nm, making it suitable for live cell imaging, high-throughput applications, and advanced cell biology research.   The details of the seminar are as follows:   Topic: Cell Xelence Spinning Disk + Label-Free Dual Modality Microscope Date: 30th July 2026, Thursday Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Venue: Y303   Live System Demonstration   The demo unit of the Cell Xelence platform will be available at ULS from 10th August to 28th August 2026. Interested participants are welcome to test the demo unit during this period.   Demo Location: Y210   Registration & Inquiries To register or for any inquiries, please contact Dr. Shuqi Zhang by email at shuqi.zhang@polyu.edu.hk.   All are welcome!

(Change of date) ULS seminar - Unlocking New Horizons in In-Vivo Small Animal Imaging

Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict, the upcoming ULS seminar, Unlocking New Horizons in In-Vivo Small Animal Imaging will now be held on 28th July.    If you have already registered, your registration will automatically transfer to the new date.    ULS seminar: Unlocking New Horizons in In-Vivo Small Animal Imaging The University Research Facility in Life Sciences (ULS) is co-organizing a workshop on a Photoacoustic Multimodal Imaging platform with BIO-LING Company and G-Cell Technology.   Photoacoustic (PA) Multimodal Imaging is a hybrid biomedical technique that combines the high-contrast sensitivity of optical imaging with the deep tissue penetration and high spatial resolution of ultrasound. This advanced system allows PA excitation in the Near-Infrared (NIR) spectrum at 1064 nm, breaking traditional imaging limits which are typically restricted to wavelengths ranging from 680 nm to 970 nm. Based on laser-excited ultrasound signals, this platform provides high-resolution imaging capabilities at great depths, making it suitable for research on various organs and systems, such as cardiovascular, nervous, and lymphatic systems, as well as skin, musculoskeletal systems, tumors, and developmental biology.   The details of the lecture are as follows:   Topic: Unlocking New Horizons in In-Vivo Small Animal Imaging Date: 15th July 2026 (Wednesday) 28th July 2026 Time: 2:00 pm 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM Venue: Y716 Y715   Live System Demonstration The demo unit of the imaging platform will be available at ULS in late July. Interested participants are welcome to bring their own animal models to test the demo unit. A separate email regarding the demo schedule will be sent out later. Please stay tuned!   Registration & Inquiries To register, please scan the QR code on the event poster. For any inquiries, please contact Dr. Alan Leung (alan.sl.leung@polyu.edu.hk) or Dr. Rachel Li (rachel.ws.li@polyu.edu.hk).   We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this adjustment may cause. We highly appreciate your understanding and flexibility, and we look forward to welcoming you on 28th July. All are welcome!
