FAQ (for PolyU students)

Yes, all PolyU full-time bachelor’s degree students, except those who will graduate upon completion of semester 2 in 2022-23,  can attend both, given that the schedules are clash free.

You are expected to take one subject but you are welcome to take up to two subjects.

Yes, you need to inform the International Summer School via email if you wish to withdraw from the programme after making the payment. However, tuition fees and / or deposits paid are not refundable, except if you withdraw from the International Summer School in order to attend the regular Summer Term and / or fulfill Work-Integrated Education (WIE) as required by your programme which clashes with the International Summer School schedule. You are also required to provide supporting documents (e.g. subject registration record for regular Summer Term, confirmation letter / email of your WIE programme, etc.) for refund arrangement.

You can only change your selected subject(s) before the International Summer School starts. Please submit your application for change of subject(s) via email to the International Summer School. Your application will be considered subject to vacancy and on a first-come, first-served basis. If you drop a subject without any replacement, the deposit and tuition fee will NOT be refunded.

You are required to submit an application for subject withdrawal to your programme offering department before the second last class and seek approval from both the programme leader and the subject lecturer concerned. A handling fee of HKD110 per subject will be charged and the HKD1,000 deposit paid for the subject will NOT be refunded. The withdrawn subject will still be reported in your Assessment Result Notification and Transcript of Studies although it will not be counted in GPA calculation.

The tuition fee is non-refundable, except in the case of programme cancellation.

The deposit will be refunded in early October upon successful completion of the programme. However, if a student drops a subject without any replacement / withdraws from the International Summer School, the deposit paid will NOT be refunded, except only if he / she does so to attend the regular Summer Term and / or fulfill Work-Integrated Education (WIE) as required by the student's programme, which clashes with the International Summer School schedule.

Yes, credits and grades attained at the International Summer School will be counted towards your cumulative GPA. They might also contribute towards your graduation requirements, if such are relevant to your programme of study.

Yes, students shall attend all classes and an examination and fulfill the assessment requirements as stipulated by the subject.
