Failure to upload the required documents may affect your chances of admission or prolong the application process.

If these documents are not in English or Chinese, you are required to provide official translated documents in English; otherwise your application may not be considered.

If your results are not yet available upon submission of your application, please indicate the forthcoming date(s) which the results will be available. For applicants taking IB or GCE/ International A-Level, please ask your school to send us the predicted public examination results for our preliminary assessment . Once the results are available, please update the relevant sections of the online application form and upload the document(s) indicating your latest results.

Applicants may login to eAdmission anytime to upload the transcript/ score report for new qualifications or academic results.

"Academic Referee" Section

For documents like "Predicted Score Report" or "reference letter" which are considered as "confidential" by your school / institution, please

(1) Fill in "Academic Referee" section under eAdmission and then a system generated email will be sent to your designated school counselor or referee. They are able to provide the predicted scores via the online system*, or

(2) Ask them to send us the relevant documents by email (ar.intl@polyu.edu.hk) or by post (Academic Registry, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Kowloon, Hong Kong).

* The system generated email will only be sent to the counselor / referee after applicants submitted the application and paid the application fee.

Counselors / Referees are normally given one to two weeks to submit the required documents via the designated link. If counselors / referees need more time to prepare for the documents, they could do so by submitting the supporting information to our university by email (ar.intl@polyu.edu.hk). In the email, the applicant's name and PolyU application number must be clearly quoted for keeping track of record.

Interview Arrangement

While interviews are generally not mandatory, Academic departments may notify shortlisted applicants of the interview arrangement individually by email. Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be possible. If they fail to do so, their applications may not be further considered.

If you are given an offer or a conditional offer, you will be informed via email and/or SMS. You may also check your application result online.

If there is no news by mid-July, you should assume that your application is unsuccessful.

After your offer acceptance is confirmed, PolyU will help you apply for a student visa. Please submit the completed student visa application package to PolyU within one month after paying the initial fee (i.e. first debit note). Click here for further details.

Verification of Qualifications

As the final stage to confirm your admission, you will be required to send the original official transcripts and score reports directly to our University, or ask the official bodies to send us a certified true copy of your certificates.  Failure to do so or any discrepancies found may lead to nullification of your offer and registration in our University.

Towards programme commencement, normally from late July onwards, applicants will receive notifications relating to hall application, verification of academic results and qualifications, online programme registration, orientation activities and subject registration by stages.
