IMPACT2021 Conference to Explore "New Tourism, New Directions"
Following the success of the inaugural IMPACT Conference last year, IMPACT2021 will once again be organised with an aim to strengthening the impact of research on hospitality and tourism on the industry and society at large. Organised by the SHTM and its Hospitality and Tourism Research Centre together with STR, IMPACT2021 will be held on 16 December in a hybrid mode and in conjunction with the Second GBA Smart Tourism Forum, which will be held on 17 December 2021.

For more than a year, the COVID-19 pandemic has undermined or cast doubt on agreed-upon principles and practices in the global hospitality and tourism industry. In today's new and unfamiliar territory, the industry needs to rethink how it operates and rebuild itself from the ground up. Taking the theme "New Tourism, New Directions", IMPACT2021 will bring industry executives, government officials and academics together to discuss global industry trends, explore creative ways to move forward and develop strategic frameworks for promoting sustainable practices and the revitalisation of the industry.

At IMPACT2021, a number of renowned industry practitioners and scholars will share their views on global industry trends and prospects and propose solutions to the challenges currently faced by the industry.

The conference will be relevant to those from the following sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry.
  • Retail
  • Travel
  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Attractions
  • Theme Parks
  • Airlines
  • Government
  • Education
  • Journalism
  • Key Industry Opinion Leadership
