Professor Metin Kozak presented a joint paper with Professor Antonia Correia on "Self-Determination of Scholars while Acting as a Review for Tourism and Hospitality Journals" at the 50th Tourist Research Centre Meeting in Lyon, France on 26-29 March 2015.

Professor Metin Kozak was an invited speaker at the Editors and Authors Workshop organised by Routledge and the Scientific Council of Turkey in Antalya, Turkey on 6 April 2015.
Dr Markus Schuckert chaired a parallel session on "Quality of Life and Business Growth" at the 2015 Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) Europe Chapter Conference in Innsbruck, Austria on 22-24 April. Dr Schuckert also presented a co-authored paper entitled "Online Review Feedback on Chinese Luxury Hotels and Management Response: A Western Perspective".
Professor Kaye Chon participated in a breakout session entitled "Outbound China: Are We Ready for It?" at the World Tourism Forum Lucerne 2015 in Switzerland on 23-24 April.
Dr Wilco Chan chaired an oral session on "Management" at the 3rd International Symposium on Education, Psychology and Social Sciences in Kyoto, Japan on 7-9 May 2015. Dr Chan also presented a co-authored paper entitled "Compensation Difference between Locals and Expatriates in China's Hotel Industry".
Professor Kaye Chon, Professor Metin Kozak, Dr Mimi Li and Dr Tony Tse attended the 21st Asia Pacific Tourism Association (APTA) Annual Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 14-17 May 2015. Professor Kozak participated in Graduate Panel Session on "What and How to do it?" and APTA Panel Session on the theme "Academic Trend: What Should We Do?". Dr Li presented a poster entitled "Perceiving and Experiencing Urban Tourism Space from Children's Perspectives: An Application of Children's Geographies". Dr Tse presented a paper entitled "Revisiting Tourism Planning Approaches: The Case of Hong Kong from an Industry Perspective".
Professor Kaye Chon, Professor Metin Kozak, Dr Jinsoo Lee, Dr Markus Schuckert, Dr Henry Tsai, Dr Dan Wang, and Ph.D. students Ms Ja-young Choe, Ms Miju Choi and Ms Bona Kim attended the World Conference on Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Research (WHTER) and International Convention and Expo Summit (ICES) 2015 in Seoul, Korea on 20-22 May. Professor Chon delivered a welcome message and keynote speech. Professor Kozak participated in a panel session entitled "Partnership between Industry and Academia" and presented a co-authored paper entitled "Competitiveness of Overseas Pleasure Destinations: A Comparison Study Based on Choice Sets". Dr Lee and Dr Schuckert participated in a panel session entitled "Emerging Issues in MICE Industry: Implications for Teaching, Research and Student Development". Dr Wang presented a paper entitled "Technology Adoption in Hospitality Organizations: An Outcome of the Imbrication of IT, Organizations, and Environment".
Dr Alice Hon, Ms Tiffany Cheng, Ms Clare Fung and Ms Anne Tang attended the Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) Conference 2015 in Manchester, UK on 20-22 May. Dr Hon and Ms Fung presented a co-authored paper entitled "A Study of Customer Satisfaction Towards Environmental Measures in Chinese Hotel Industry". Ms Cheng and Ms Tang presented a co-authored paper entitled "A Study of Hong Kong Hotel and Tourism Management Undergraduate Students' Experiences of Using Facebook in Collaborative Learning".
Professor Kaye Chon, Professor Brian King, Professor Cathy Hsu and Professor Bob McKercher attended the International Academy for the Study of Tourism 2015 Conference in Rhodes, Greece on 24-29 May.
Dr Karin Weber presented a paper entitled "Social Distinctiveness and Social Context Effects in a Service Failure Situation" at the 44th EMAC Annual Conference in Leuven, Belgium on 26-29 May 2015.
