EmoSense AI Limited, an incubated company of our research centre, was honoured to be selected to showcase at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University exhibition booth at the Belt and Road Summit (9–10 September 2026, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre), featured in the University Zone of the Summit.
At the PolyU booth, EmoSense AI presented its flagship product EmoFriends - a modular emotional companionship toolkit awarded the iF Design Award 2025 and the Hong Kong Techathon+ Gold Award. EmoFriends leverages our patented "Emosense" technology to precisely monitor pressure and emotional states through highly sensitive touch sensors, transforming ordinary plush toys into intelligent companion robots. Combined with AI-driven empathetic chat and tactile feedback, it delivers personalised, compassionate emotional support for users.
This participation highlights our research centre's leading position in human-centric AI and caring mobility technologies, as well as our capacity to translate research into socially impactful solutions.
During the Summit, our team engaged with government officials, industry leaders, and investors from Belt and Road countries, sharing our latest advancements in emotional wellness and intelligent sensing technologies, and exploring cross-border collaboration opportunities and diverse application scenarios. We are proud to see our incubated outcomes gain international recognition, further advancing the journey from research to real-world impact.
