符欲均博士在浙江大學獲得軟體工程學士學位，隨後來到香港深造，先後於香港城市大學及香港理工大學獲得多媒體資訊技術科學碩士學位和哲學博士學位，並在博士畢業後在香港理工大學電子計算學系擔任博士後研究員。
符博士對跨學科研究特別感興趣，尤其是將人工智能、機器學習、深度學習、多媒體及信號處理等技術應用於人本問題上的相關研究。他之前的研究工作涉及多個領域，包括打架識別、行為分析、生理信號測量、精神狀態監測、視力健康篩查以及智慧消防工程等。他曾在多個具有影響力的會議及期刊上發表論文，包括AAAI、ACMMM、COMPSAC、IJHCI、FSJ等。他也曾被多個著名會議及期刊邀請擔任會議委員會成員及審稿人，例如CHI、ACMMM、IJHCS等。
他目前的主要研究方向是利用多模態信號（如生理信號、眼動交互、身體運動以及其他圖像或視像信號等）構建人工智能系統來預測人們的健康問題，並最終保障人們的健康狀況。
