Sanchez博士是一位生物医学专家,在学术界和制药行业(荷兰Crucell公司[现为 Janssen Vaccines and Prevention]和瑞典阿斯特捷利康制药)都拥有国际研究经验。她在墨西哥的ENCB-IPN学院获得制药及工业化学学士学位,其后取得乌特勒支卓越奖学金,在荷兰乌特勒支大学完成生物医学硕士学位。她在香港理工大学获得生物科学博士学位。
Sanchez博士曾参与各种各样的研究工作,包括与抑郁症、精神健康、肾病学、病毒疫苗研发有关的研究项目。她担任博士后研究员时,参与了哥特堡大学和瑞典阿斯特捷利康制药的合作项目,研究受体酪氨酸激酶的串扰分子机制,此机制与肾脏病理学相关。她亦曾担任项目负责人,与瑞士、香港和菲律宾的大学合作,统筹精神健康项目并开发数码精神健康干预措施。
Sanchez博士对精神和神经疾病的潜在分子机制以及补充和替代医学 (CAM) 的治疗效果特别感兴趣。她的研究重点是神经生成 ―― 一种与神经和情感障碍的病理生理学相关的可塑性机制,以及使用动物模型了解CAM对神经生成的作用。她曾参与某些研究项目,评估单一药物、激素、香薰治疗、中药和社交孤立对神经生成的影响,以及神经生成对情绪和情感障碍的作用。她曾在国际会议上发表研究成果,并在Neuroscience、Frontiers in Neuroscience、Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience、Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine等同行评审期刊上发表论文,并曾成功获得资助,进行肾病学和精神健康的研究。
