Development Programme for Advancing Clinical Education (PACE)

PACE targets current and aspiring Clinical Educators in physiotherapy. It offers an immersive, practice-based curriculum that equips participants with the essential knowledge, skills and professional values to effectively guide and assess students during clinical placements. With a strong focus on the real-world challenges and significance of clinical education, the program blends theoretical foundations with practical teaching methodologies, emotional intelligence, student assessment, feedback delivery and strategies for managing difficult situations. Starting from March 2025, over 110 participants have engaged in the course, reporting enhanced confidence, teaching effectiveness and readiness to support student development. By integrating diverse perspectives from experienced CEs, newly appointed CEs and students, the course delivers a comprehensive view of the clinical education journey. Through hands-on learning and authentic scenarios, participants are empowered to foster supportive learning environments and advance their own professional growth.

The Clinical Education Conference is a groundbreaking event of its kind in Hong Kong, designed to empower clinical educators in physiotherapy and occupational therapy. This pioneering event delivers cutting-edge knowledge and practical tools to enhance educational practices. The comprehensive programme addresses crucial areas including coaching skills development, innovative placement models, and cross-cultural education approaches. We explore effective strategies for facilitating student-to-therapist transitions, addressing professional shortfalls, and fostering professionalism amongst students. Additionally, we examine future directions in clinical education whilst providing essential guidance on managing stress within educational settings, shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
