The Nexus Forum 2026, hosted by Nexus journal, was successfully held at Rhodes House, University of Oxford, United Kingdom, from 22 to 24 July 2026. Under the theme “Unity in Diversity: Interdisciplinary Perspectives for a Sustainable Future”, the Forum provided an important platform for advancing interdisciplinary exchange, research collaboration, smart technologies, and sustainable development.
Bringing together experts from science, technology, policy, and society, the three-day Forum aimed to break down disciplinary silos and inspire holistic solutions for a resilient and sustainable future. The programme featured keynote speeches, a panel session, oral and poster presentations, and an editorial workshop, attracting over 120 participants, including academic experts, authors, consulate representatives, and industry professionals from around the world.
Prof. LI Xiangdong, Director of RICRI and SKL-CRCC, Dean of FCE, Chair Professor of Environmental Science and Technology, and Ko Jan Ming Professor in Sustainable Urban Development, was invited to deliver a keynote speech entitled “Climate-Resilient Infrastructure in Coastal Cities – Some Thoughts and Examples”. In his presentation, Prof. LI introduced RICRI’s research vision, flagship initiatives, and ongoing projects in climate-resilient infrastructure. His sharing highlighted the Institute’s commitment to addressing climate challenges through interdisciplinary innovation and practical engineering solutions. As a supporting unit of Nexus Forum 2026, RICRI was pleased to contribute to this meaningful international platform and to engage with global scholars and practitioners in exploring sustainable and climate-resilient solutions for the future.
