摘要

International trade and carbon emissions are interconnected in complex ways due to the global nature of trade and the impact of various economic activities on carbon emissions. International trade might cause carbon leakage, which refers to businesses where to transfer production to other countries with laxer emission constraints. Emerging economies have been making larger contributions to international trade and associated emission transfer. Understanding the trends and drivers of the CO2 emissions embodied in international trade is of great importance, and the rising emissions embodied in South–South trade need to be paid more attention.
