Zijian Zheng’s research lab
at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Welcome to the Zijian Zheng’s research group in the Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology (ABCT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University!

The general research interest of Zheng Group is controlling the architecture on surfaces at the molecular and nanometer scales. We focus on tailoring the surface properties and functionalities by manipulating the surface topography and chemistry. The approaches are multidisciplinary, involving expertise and knowledge in chemistry, materials science, physics, electric engineering, biochemistry, and textile. In particular, we aim to pursue our research in the following areas:

1. development of new nanotechnologies and tools for surface patterning at the nanometer scale
2. synthesis and assembly of nanomaterials on surfaces
3. investigation of molecular behaviors at the nano-structured environment different from bulk
4. implementation of nanotechnologies and nano-materials into wearable electronic devices
