Establishment of Research Center for Nature-Inspired Science and Engineering

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) was very pleased to announce that the Research Center for Nature-Inspired Science and Engineering (RCNISE) was established on May 1, 2023. This important undertaking aims to promote research in the field of bionics, thereby reinforcing PolyU's strong commitment to promoting innovation and the advancement of knowledge. As a research center, RCNISE plays a vital role in leading transformative research initiatives. Under the leadership of Prof. WANG Zuankai, Chair Professor of Nature-Inspired Engineering, Associate Vice President (Research and Innovation), RCNISE has become a center of expertise and innovation, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in the research field. RCNISE aims to create novel solutions by utilizing nature-inspired approaches and principles to address significant challenges in water, energy, environment, and healthcare. RCNISE focuses on a variety of core research topics, including but not limited to: Nature-inspired sciences Water-energy nexus Thermal management Information interaction   By focusing on these key areas, RCNISE seeks to become a global leader in biomimetic science and engineering, making significant contributions to academia and industry. The center also looks forward to engaging with partners and stakeholders from across sectors to facilitate technology exchange and drive impactful collaboration.
