RCMI delegation visits Northern China

 

Prof. WONG Man-sau, Director of the Research Centre for Chinese Medicine Innovation (RCMI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), led a delegation of six members from RCMI on a duty visit to Mainland China from 24 to 28 June, aiming to further expanding PolyU’s partnerships in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) education and research in the Mainland.

 

The group travelled to several cities in Northern China, including Baoding and Anguo in Hebei province, and Beijing, and visited several organisations in the healthcare and industry sectors.  These included Baoding Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Jimon Group in Anguo, and Nestlé Research and Development Center in Beijing.  The group engaged in lively discussions with the organisation representatives, exchange views on a wide range of topics related to TCM development such as medicine formulas and effects, Hong Kong’s strengths in research commercialisation, hospital-made medicines, women’s health, TCM education, Chinese medicine-based food product, etc.

 

RCMI and Baoding TCM Hospital agreed to further strengthen collaboration in upgrading medicinal and food products, transforming hospital-made medicines, and exploring new models of TCM education, research and industry collaboration, with the goal of achieving complementary advantages, resource sharing, coordinated development and mutual benefit.
