(Bangkok) The 2024 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) is taken place from 15-18 Dec 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. This premiere event brings together industry leaders, academics, and researchers to discuss advancements in engineering practices and management strategies.
PhD student Xu Yue presented his project titled “A Framework for Power Dynamics in AR/MR-Aided Design Collaboration.” This presentation explores how visualization technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) are reshaping traditional design collaboration, significantly affecting power dynamics and the conflicting interests among stakeholders.
Despite the transformative potential of AR/MR technologies, there is currently no comprehensive mapping of their intersecting relationship with power dynamics. Xu's framework seeks to examine the power structures and influences inherent in AR/MR-aided design collaboration, offering valuable insights into control mechanisms and decision-making processes. This research will enhance understanding of how these technologies influence the negotiation of design outcomes and interpersonal relationships in collaborative settings.
IEEM is the leading international forum to disseminate, to all branches of industries, information on the most recent and relevant research, theories and practices in IEEM.
