Summary

The Zijin Award - China (Nanjing) College Students Design Exhibition is an annual creative event for students. Since its inception, it has become the most influential creative design carnival among students in the country and is an important platform and showcase to present the achievements of design education in Chinese universities.

The 5th Zijin Award - China (Nanjing) College Students Design Exhibition will make a strong comeback from June 7-11, 2024! As an annual design festival for college students, this exhibition not only continues the high standard of previous events, but also achieves a qualitative leap in many aspects, providing everyone with an unprecedented visual impression and food for thought.

This year's College Student Design Exhibition will launch a Yangtze River themed work camp exhibition with "Our Yangtze River" as the core, inviting Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Nanjing University/Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Nanjing Academy of Arts to carry out design work camps, exhibitions, and high-end forums around five themes, including color, sound, water, and literature, to further tell the story of the Yangtze River and attract college students from all over the country to participate.

The design workshop "The Perceptual Reimagine of Immersive Imagination" was initiated by Zijin Award - China (Nanjing) College Student Design Exhibition (CSDE) in collaboration with Nanjing University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Nanjing University of the Arts, and targeted design students from all over the country. The research object was the Yangtze River, which enabled students the opportunity to work closely with top designers, scientists and scientific and technological innovation companies in an interdisciplinary collaboration. The outstanding works of the workshop are exhibited in this design exhibition.

Theme Explanation - The Perceptual Reimagine of Immersive Imagination

The artistic conception means that the subject becomes the state beyond itself, and the state becomes the medium of the heart. The artistic conception is the construction of the medium of the heart and is perceived through the immersion of the heart. This workshop will focus on this unique form of perception of Chinese civilization, artistic conception, and explore the innovative possibilities of virtual reality technology in the construction of artistic conception. Over the centuries, the "Yangtze River", this cultural symbol of civilization, and its diverse natural forms have given birth to countless imaginative artistic concepts. They transmit the artistic conception that originated in the hearts of ancient people to our eyes either through literary media or pictorial forms. How do new media forms create new artistic concepts in the digital age? This workcamp will bring together experts and students from fields such as digital art, digital design, digital humanities, digital cultural heritage and emotional geography to conduct interdisciplinary experiments together.
