Print Smart, Build Green – Concrete Printing Competition with Low-Carbon Material
Initiated by the Research Centre for Resources Engineering Towards Carbon Neutrality (RCRE) and the PolyU 3D Concrete Robotic Printing Research Centre (RCC3D), with supported by the Industrial Centre (IC), the competition – Print Smart, Build Green begins in March 2026.
Objectives
- To promote 3D concrete printing technology and its applications
- To encourage students' creativity and innovation in sustainable design
- To foster interdisciplinary collaboration among PolyU students
- To showcase the eco-friendly construction material developed by PolyU
Eligibility
- Open to all PolyU students: full-time and part-time undergraduate (Ug), taught postgraduate (TPg) and research postgraduate (RPg) PolyU students
- Individual or team participation (max. 4 members per team)
- Team members may come from the same or different departments/schools
Competition Process

| Registration | Teams/individuals register via MS Form on 16 March - 29 March 2026 |
| Online Briefing Session | Introduction to concrete printing technology, design limitations, and competition rules on 31 March 2026 |
| Design Submision |
Submit .STL design model + design description (in any format; video, PPT, Word, etc.) + Application Form by 30 May 2026 |
| Evaluation | Judging panel reviews submissions and selects top 3 winners |
| Printing & Exhibition | Winning designs will be printed in collaboration with RCC3D and IC, and exhibited |
| Award Presentation | Winners announced and prizes presented at a later stage (Date: TBC) |
