The Council comprises the following members:
| (a) |
the President and the Deputy President
|
|
| (b) | three elected staff members appointed by the Council of whom: | |
| (i) | two are to be elected by and from the full-time staff; and | |
| (ii) |
one is to be elected by and from the Senate
|
|
| (c) | 17 members who are not employees or students of the University or public officers of whom: | |
| (i) | nine are to be appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR); and | |
| (ii) |
eight are to be appointed by the Council
|
|
| (d) |
one member from the alumni who is not an employee of the University and who shall be appointed by the Council
|
|
| (e) | two members from the full-time students appointed by the Council of whom: | |
| (i) | one is to be elected by and from the full-time undergraduate and sub-degree students; and | |
| (ii) |
one is to be elected by and from the full-time postgraduate students |
|
The Chief Executive of the HKSAR shall appoint:
| (a) | the Chairman of the Council |
| (b) | the Deputy Chairman of the Council |
| (c) | the Treasurer of the University |
from members appointed under category (c) above.
