Run with Pride, Run with PolyU!

The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 (SCHKM 2026) is coming on 18 January 2026 (Sun), and we want you to be part of it!  We are targeting thousands of PolyU runners to proudly represent our University community at this premier sporting event. Together, we will foster PolyU’s unity, pride and competitive spirit, while creating unforgettable memories on the city’s biggest running stage.

The public ballot results for the SCHKM 2026 are out! We warmly congratulate you if you were successful in the public ballot and have completed the payment to secure your spot.

Registration is still open to PolyU students, staff and alumni, and we also welcome our supporters, partners and friends of PolyU. Don't miss out — let's run together and showcase our PolyU spirit on the marathon stage!

Join PolyU Cheering Team

Even if you are not running at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026, you can still join the PolyU Cheering Team in supporting the PolyU Running Team on 18 January 2026.

You can choose to participate from either 7 am to 10 am or 9 am to 12 noon at one of the key checkpoints along the course, including the Western Harbour Tunnel Hong Kong exit, Lockhard Road in Wanchai, Causeway Bay SOGO or the footbridge in Tai Koo Shing, to support the runners of the PolyU Running Team.

    Upcoming Activity:

      To keep you well prepared and ready for the marathon, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is offering a seminar* that addresses common injury risks through practical demonstrations and helps long-distance runners avoid injuries while enhancing their performance. Please find the details as follows:

    Topic: How to Stay Healthy, Injury-Free and Perform as a Long-Distance Runner

    Date: 23 December 2025 (Tuesday)
      Time: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
    Speaker: Ms Fannie Lau, Physiotherapist, Hong Kong Triathlon Association Level 1 Coach 
      Language: Cantonese
    Venue: Z205, 2/F, Block Z, PolyU

  • Functional test package for physical fitness and personalised advice for injury prevention and performance enhancement; Trajectory of physical fitness and targeted advice during the preparation phase; Rehabilitation services for runners (at a discounted cost) provided by RS;
  • Training sessions with professional running coaches to help you get ready for the big day;
    *A 5-session programme totalling 10 hours, focusing on enhancing distance running skills
  • Assessments of running posture/injury potential, and prescribed insoles provided by RISports
    *A comprehensive assessment package incorporates a 3D foot scan, body composition analysis, and instrumental running gait analysis. Runners gain insights into their potential injury risks and receive insoles prescribed based on their foot shapes and gait patterns.
  • #Each individual is entitled to one exclusive benefit, available on a first-come, first-served basis. All eligible registrants have been individually notified via email about their assigned benefit starting from November.
