Biography

Rosina is a Chinese New Zealander artist working across drawing, painting, digital media, and installation to explore how bodies interact with space. Her recent practice focuses on VR creation and the role of gesture in shaping digital virtual landscapes.
She completed a Ph.D. at RMIT University in 2025, where she investigated VR as a creative medium and cultural practice. Building on the aesthetics and philosophies of Chinese Xie Yi painting, her research culminated in the development of a wearable device that translates embodied movement for VR painting.
Grounded in her painting background, Rosina emphasizes gestural and bodily expression in the making of digital spaces. She is active in academic conferences, museum and exhibition spaces, and education, with work presented in Australia, New Zealand, China, and Malaysia.
