Topic:
Multi-omics Studies in Longitudinal Cohorts

Speaker:
Prof. Liming LIANG
Professor of Statistical Genetics
Departments of Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Harvard University

Abstract:
In this talk, Prof. Liang will discuss their published work in recent years to integrate multi-omics data in longitudinal cohorts to understand the biological mechanism and improve accuracy for exposure assessment. Prof. Liang will include examples from genome-wide association studies, polygenic risk predictions, epigenome-wide association studies and functional experiment follow-up, as well as metabolomics studies based on Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Applications will include our published studies using the UK Biobank, Nurses’ Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study, and several dietary and physical intervention trials in multi-ethnic populations.
