The PolyU Info Day 2026 for Undergraduate Admissions was successfully held on 10 October 2026, which attracted over 49,000 visitors, including secondary school students, parents, and members of the public. The campus came alive with more than 250 activities, offering a vibrant mix of admission talks, sharing sessions, workshops, and guided tours.

The Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial Science (LSGS) welcomed crowds at Wing CF with interactive showcases highlighting the future of geospatial technology, spatial analytics, and smart city development. Prospective students and parents engaged with LSGS professors, research staff, and student helpers during personalized course consultations at the department's booth.

Visitors also packed Room HJ303 for two undergraduate admission talks focusing on the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Spatial Data Science and Smart Cities (JS3130). Delivered by speakers Ir Prof. Wallace LAI and Dr. Sissi CHEN, the talks gave attendees deep insights into academic structures and professional accreditations. The sessions also featured inspiring alumni sharing segments, where Mr. Chu Kin YUNG from the Lands Department and Ms. Amelia Lok Ting NG from the Housing Department recounted their real-life success stories and career trajectories.

Another major highlight was the popular guided laboratory tours. Attendees visited the Planetary Remote Sensing Lab and the Underground Utility Survey Lab, alongside experiencing the department’s cutting-edge HiVE immersive technology, where they discovered firsthand how spatial tools are used for the digital preservation of historical heritage.

The highly successful event provided an invaluable platform for future innovators to discover how LSGS combines science and technology to shape sustainable smart cities. The department extends its heartfelt thanks to all the secondary school students, parents, and visitors who joined us, as well as our dedicated professors, research staff, and student helpers whose hard work made this day a memorable success.
