
Biography
Tsan-Ming Choi (Jason) is currently a Professor of Fashion Business at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Over the past decade, he has actively participated in a variety of research projects on supply chain management and applied optimization for fashion business operations. He has authored/edited sixteen research handbooks and guest-edited many special issues for various well-established journals on related topics. He has published over 200 papers in Web of Science listed citation journals such as leading business journals (such as Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, Naval Research Logistics, European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research Part B, Transportation Research Part E, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, etc), high-impact engineering journals (such as Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Systems, Information Sciences, Risk Analysis, etc), and well-established fashion and textiles journals (such as Textile Research Journal, Journal of the Textile Institute, The Design Journal, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, etc).
He is currently the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part E. He is also serving as a senior editor of Production and Operations Management, and Decision Support Systems, and an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Systems, and Information Sciences, and an editorial board member of Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, International Journal of Production Research, International Transactions in Operational Research, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, etc. He has also served as a guest editor of many leading journals such as Annals of Operations Research, Decision Sciences, IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Production and Operations Management, Risk Analysis, Supply Chain Management, etc. He is the founding series editor of Springer's Book Series in Fashion Business. He was an executive committee member/officer of professional organizations such as IEEE-SMC(HK) and POMS(HK). Currently, he is serving the Research Grants Council (Hong Kong) as a panel member.
Jason was a member of the programme planning committee for an international joint master’s programme (with North Carolina State University in the USA, and ENSAIT in France) in global fashion supply chain management, in which he was the programme leader from 2007-2011. He received the President’s Award of Outstanding Performance (the most prestigious award at the university level) in November 2008. He received the Best Associate Editor Award of IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society in two consecutive years - 2013 and 2014. Before joining his current department in fall 2004, he was an assistant professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
