Entry Credit Transfer

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) will consider to grant entry credit transfer of Discipline-Specific Requirements (DSR) credits to IB/GCE Advanced Level/ International Advanced Level students as follows:

AMA1110 Basic Mathematics I - Calculus and Probability & Statistics	GCE Advanced Level/ International Advanced Level	Mathematics	A	For International Advanced Level offered by Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA)/ Pearson Edexcel (Edexcel), the sub-grades must include Statistics 1/ Statistics respectively.
	International Baccalaureate (IB)	Mathematics: analysis and approaches (HL)/ Mathematics: applications and interpretation (HL)	5	-
AMA1120 Basic Mathematics II -Calculus and Linear Algebra	GCE Advanced Level/ International Advanced Level	Mathematics: Further/ Further Mathematics	A	Applicable only to students enrolled in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics who have successfully received credit transfer for AMA1110. For International Advanced Level, each case will be reviewed individually.

Remarks: The above mapping table is subject to review and changes which the programme offering Faculty/Department may decide to make from time to time

General Guidelines for granting Credit Transfer of DSR subjects

Granting of credit transfer is mainly based on the subject contents and the learning outcomes attained.
The subject contents attained should be at least 75% similar to the PolyU subjects of a similar level, credits, and contact hours.
Application will only be considered if students have attained a minimum grade C (or in case where grade is not applicable, 60% should be used as the guideline) for their previous studies (both PolyU and non-PolyU subjects).
