Venue: Lecture Theatre FJ303
Speaker: Mr Benny Kwan (Environmental Protection Officer, Environmental Protection Department)
Abstract: The speaker will share with you on what we can do in our daily lives to help improve our environment. These include tips on energy saving, water saving, waste reduction, materials recycling, green procurement, green transportation, maintenance of good indoor air quality, etc.

Environmental Talk (2) – “Climate Change and Me”
Date: 30 March 2012 (Friday)
Time: 16:30 to 17:45
Venue: Room Y611
Speaker: Mr Wing-Mo Leung (Ex-Assistant Director, Hong Kong Observatory)
Abstract: Earlier this year, Europe experienced one of the coldest winters with hundreds of people killed. Climate change deniers are quick to confuse the public with such changes in weather as a proof that our climate is not warming. How can we reconcile this apparent discrepancy between global warming and the freezing weather that still affects parts of our world?  In Hong Kong, there appears to be more discussions about the “2012 Doomsday” than climate change lately. Why are scientists so worried about climate change? What impacts climate change, if unimpeded, will have to us in Hong Kong? Is there anything we should and can do about it? The speaker will share with you his views on the answers to the above questions.

You are most welcome to attend these talks. Students can earn 10 SPECIAL Points (Ethics) for attending each talk. Please note that prior registration is not required and seats are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
