Colourful and nature-inspired campus in Spring

1 Apr 2021

Campus landscape is a key element and one of the most defining aspects of an institution’s identity. PolyU’s Landscape and Tree Maintenance Team works hard to design and introduce strategies and intensions for colourful open spaces that match well with the University’s architectural landscape. The trees and flowers offer a healing environment for the urban campus and constitute a relaxed, natural scenery that encourages creativity. They also provide an aesthetic sense by involving attractive surroundings and creating visual surprises.

The Team diligently considers and brings in landscape elements that fit well with existing campus design, particularly the overwhelming brick-red towers and linked wings. Stylish and colourful potted plants are present to enrich the campus setting. Attractive and inspiring seasonal flower species are ready to bid hello to the campus community and returning visitors.

Spring is right around the corner now. The PolyU campus is in full bloom on a sunny day. Trees of every kind conspire together on campus to keep the air moist and fresh. The gently flowering blossoms, lovely butterflies and birds are here as well, telling us the campus is a home to a healthy community of plants and natural habitats.

People enjoy viewing and being in the presence of colour and flowers. Flowers do produce restorative effects and provide a sensory interest to relieve pressure. Colourful flowers and their scent on the PolyU campus combine to impress all visitors, inviting them to return to a relaxed ambience or encouraging them to explore.
