Summary

In 2021, 30% of our municipal solid waste came from food waste. How could we reduce and reuse the food waste? In this workshop, participants will be able to understand the food waste issue in Hong Kong at a glance, and to learn how to make and use the environmental enzyme for cleaning.

Timeslot:

12:30 - 1:20 pm / 1:30 - 2:20 pm

Participants are required to bring:

  • 1 bowl of raw citrus peels (e.g. orange peels, lemon peels) (around 2 orange peels) (must not be cooked, and do not smear with oil)
  • 1 plastic bottle (around 500 ml) (with bottle cap)

✨By fulfiling the attendance requirements and completing the post-event feedback form, participants are able to earn 10 GreenCoins rewards to use with the PolyU GreenCoin app.

The Green Earth

The Green Earth was established in Feb 2016. It is a locally registered charitable organization. Our vision is everyone in our community will embrace green citizen responsibilities to help establish a sustainable living environment for this and future generations. Through public education and community mobilization, we aim to facilitate action by igniting green energy throughout our community, promoting resource conservation and a zero-waste culture by changing attitudes, and turning Hong Kong into a healthy green city. Our scope of work includes sustainability policy research & development, green corporate partnership, and green civic education.
