Urban Gardening Game Booth (都市耕作攤位遊戲)

Urban gardening is all about learning to grow your own organic vegetables and herbs in the city. In this game booth, you will learn which vegetables to grow or buy at different times of the year. Grown closer to Hong Kong, seasonal vegetables have a lower carbon footprint, are fresher and therefore retain more of their nutrients. Join us for fun, educational games and take home a baby plant (e.g. basil and cherry tomato seedlings) to get your home garden started!


Homemade Incense with Upcycled Peels Workshop (果皮手工香工作坊)

A great way to upcycle orange (and other citrus) peels and also create your own DIY unique incense!

  • Time: 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. / 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • Quota: 15 people / session

  • Language: Cantonese

  • Each participant can bring home one piece of incense

Free Vegan Pizza (嚐素 - 純素簿餅)

Mayse vegan sourdough pizza is a healthy and conscious option. The pizza is baked without any chemicals, artificial flavors and pizza dough and tomato sauce are made from secret recipe. All ingredients are handpicked and handmade. It is 100% vegan.

Bring your own box and enjoy the a slice of sourdough vegan pizza - Hot Hawaii (Hot Hawaii - spelt crust, homemade tomato sauce, soy glazed shiitake mushrooms, fresh chilli, sweet pineapple, vegan mozzarella, fresh basil)

Enjoy a free ride on the “Smoothie Bike” to make your own smoothie! Let’s try a dynamic way to learn more about low-carbon and healthy living


Green Monday Exhibition (展覽)

Green Monday will present an environmentally-themed exhibition at the Carnival. The exhibition elaborates on the causes of global warming and extreme weather, and how green diet benefits our health.

Besides, the speakers will share tips, ideas and the fun in cooking plant-based dishes with the attendees. What’s more exciting is attendees will get a chance to taste some delicious Plant-Based foods prepared by Happy Plantarian!



Speakers

Althea Tan

Althea has been on a Plant-Based Vegan diet for 27 years while she was living in North America and now in Hong Kong. Prior to founding the Happy Plantarian, Althea was an expert in Branding and Communications for more than 20 years covering brand communications for international brands, such as Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts Group, Westin Hotels Group, Meridien Hotels Group, Fullerton Hotel and more. In recent years, Althea has successfully acquired the Nutrition for a Healthy Heart Certificate and Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through e-Cornell. In the summer of 2015, Althea completed the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine – Food for Life Program Training.

Tansy Tan

Tansy has been on a Plant-Based Vegan diet for 27 years while she was living in North America and now in Hong Kong. Prior to founding the Happy Plantarian, Tansy’s expertise was related to Branding, Advertising, Marketing and Media Publishing for International retail brands across Asia. Arriving in Hong Kong from North America more than 20 years ago, Tansy was recruited by a pioneer of Hong Kong green business as Head of the Marketing & Public Relations Department, specializing in developing and launching organic foods, organic farming, vegetarian restaurant, and retail chain. The founding company was formerly known as “Organic Gardens”, is now called “Green Dot Dot”, a leading organic retail chain in Hong Kong.

 Workshop: Vegan Fresh Pasta Making

Participants will need to bring their own containers for the raw pasta they will make, around 2-3 boxes and baking paper to layer between the ingredients

Learn how to make Fresh Tender Vegan Pasta with us!

The workshop will show you how to make vegan pasta without using any egg, yet retaining the tender texture of fresh pasta by means of a special recipe. Also you will learn how to customize pasta using different colored vegetables. After the workshop, you will be able to make your own tagliatelle, ravioli, ribbon pasta or any fresh pasta at home.

The instructor will also prepare some light vegan refreshments and drinks for you during the workshop!
