Our endeavours leverage their unique properties such as strong light-matter coupling, extremely broadband absorption, unique defect characteristics, anomalous phonon activity, and high-mobility ambipolar charge transport. An example is 3D-1D heterostructure of carbon nanotubes in either perovskite films or single crystals, which brings out the synergy from two classes of strategically important materials. Devices such as phototransistor, photomemory, and optoelectronic gas sensors incorporating frontier materials, offer new mechanisms and operation modes. Furthermore, scalable methods of bottom-up synthesis and lithography patterning are developed for device integration and large-scale manufacture. The materials-based strategies offer solutions to critical problems in the domains of electronics and energy. Representative Publications • Acc. Mater.
