With more than 20 years of experience in the optics and photonics field, he now has a diverse research team, capable of synthesising 2D materials using CVD, exfoliation, hydrothermal, etc. and fabricate novel devices having application in study and implementation of non-linear optical properties (mode-locking, Q-switching, SHG, saturable absorption, z-scan etc.), novel large area centimetre scale photosensors, and recent venture in solar desalination for fresh water generation and solar sterilisation of medical tools for rural areas. Prof. Tsang's research team has access to dedicated non-linear optical property characterisation laser laboratory equipped with near to mid infrared fibre lasers and various other laser sources, and a newly developed photosensor characterisation laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art cryogenic probe station, semiconductor parameter analyser and fibre-coupled laser sources, etc. Awards and Achievements • Nano Research Top Papers Award, 2021 and 2022 • Science and Technology Innovation Award, Second Prize, The China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization(中國科技產業化促進會), 2021/22 • Shenzhen City Science and Technology Award Four Categories, Second Prize, 2021 • Top 2% of the world's most-cited scientists in the field of optoelectronics and photonics by Stanford University, 2019 • Silver medal, 1st Asia Exhibition of Inventions Hong Kong, 2018 • Bronze medal, Educational Award for inspiring optical graduate educational research program, EO Edmund Optics, Worldwide, 2014
