International Conference on Translation Studies in East Asia: Tradition, Transition and Transcendence (2021EAST)

The 2021EAST Conference, jointly organised by the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies and the Hong Kong Translation Society, was successfully held on 11-12 June 2021. The Conference kicked off with a welcome speech delivered by Prof. Li Ping, Dean of Faculty of Humanities. The two-day programme featured keynote speeches, invited speeches and parallel panel sessions, covering a broad spectrum of topics such as interpreting training, corpus studies and translation technology. Over 70 papers were presented and more than 260 participants from all over the world gathered at the Conference for a vibrant exchange of ideas and insights.
