Professor Allen Au Receives RAISe+ Funding for Fintech Research Project
Prof. Allen Au, Associate Head (Research and Development) and Professor of Department of Computing, has secured funding support for a Fintech research project in the third round of the Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus (RAISe+) Scheme, administered by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC).
Launched in 2023 with a funding allocation of $10 billion, the RAISe+ Scheme provides matching funding to research teams from University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded universities whose projects demonstrate strong potential for successful start-up ventures. Each approved project may receive funding support ranging from $10 million to $100 million.
Prof. Au’s project, titled “ShieldTrade: Multi-layer Defense System for Secure Web3 Transactions”, aims to develop ShieldTrade, a next-generation Web3 security system, to provide end-to-end security protection for Web3 users by detecting risky transactions before execution and blocking malicious activities in real time.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Au on this funding achievement and look forward to seeing his high-commercialisation-potential project contribute to Hong Kong’s development as an international innovation and technology hub.
