The PolyU team delivered an outstanding performance at the Huawei ICT Competition 2025-26 Hong Kong SAR, organised by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd (Huawei). The competition attracted around 900 students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions across Hong Kong. Only 30 outstanding teams advanced to the Final Round after rounds of selection, competing in three tracks: Could, Computing, and Innovation. Participants were required to address real-world challenges in rapidly evolving digital domains.
The Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS) at PolyU is proud to announce that a team including Mr Lau Chi Kai David, a Year 2 student of the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Computing programme, achieved First Runner-up in the Cloud Track. The team demonstrated strong technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and collaborative problem-solving skills in addressing industry-relevant scenarios.
Prof. Chen Changwen, Interim Dean of FCMS, attended the award presentation ceremony held at the Hong Kong Science Park on 10 February 2026 as one of the officiating guests. On behalf of PolyU and the Faculty, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to David and his teammates on their remarkable accomplishment.
This triumph reflects PolyU students’ dedication, excellence, and readiness to contribute to Hong Kong’s digital future. Congratulations to David and his team once again on their well-deserved success.
