Prof. Wanyu Lin Awarded PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award (YIRA) 2025

Congratulations to Prof. Wanyu LIN, Assistant Professor from Department of Computing, who was awarded the PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award (YIRA) 2025.  This prestigious university‑level award recognises outstanding originality and significant research contributions that address pressing global challenges.

From a highly competitive pool of 70 submissions, only six awardees were selected for this honour.  Prof. Lin’s project, “An Interpretable Deep Learning-Based Computational Framework for Crystal Materials Design,” exemplifies the innovation and impact that the YIRA seeks to celebrate.

Each awardee receives HK$500,000 in research funding and a personal cash prize of HK$20,000 in support of their research endeavours.
