Attachment Programme
Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS)
The 1-Day Attachment Programme, offered by the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (FHSS) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), provides secondary school students with a unique opportunity to explore the dynamic fields of health and social sciences. Participants will engage in a series of interactive activities, hands-on workshops, and insightful talks led by academic staff from FHSS’s five constituent departments and schools: Applied Social Sciences, Health Technology and Informatics, Rehabilitation Sciences, Nursing, and Optometry.
Throughout the day, students will gain first-hand experience in state-of-the-art laboratories, participate in simulated clinical scenarios, and learn about the latest advancements in healthcare and social innovation. The programme is designed to inspire students’ interest in health and social sciences, broaden their understanding of career pathways, and foster essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
By the end of the programme, students will have a clearer perspective on the diverse professions within the healthcare sectors, as well as the academic and personal qualities required for success in these rewarding fields. This immersive experience serves as an excellent stepping stone for students considering future studies or careers in health and social sciences.
