This subject offers a captivating journey through the wonders of modern science, designed specifically for curious secondary school students. Drawing inspiration from the university-level FS1001 course, this condensed version introduces students to the foundational principles of chemistry, physics, biology, and food science in an accessible and engaging way. Through interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and lab visits, students will explore how science shapes the world around us—from the food we eat to the technology we use. The course aims to spark curiosity, foster interdisciplinary thinking, and highlight the beauty and relevance of scientific inquiry in everyday life.
This subject aims to provide an integrated introduction to the fundamental concepts of modern science, encompassing essential elements from biology, chemistry, physics, and food science. The course is designed to foster an appreciation of the interconnectedness of scientific disciplines and their applications in everyday life and technology.

Upon completion of the subject, students will be able to:

  • Understand and apply core concepts from biology, chemistry, physics, and food science;
  • Appreciate the role of scientific principles in technological advancements and daily life; and
