This Minor in Chinese Culture programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in Chinese culture as well as personal skills which they can integrate with the specialty of their major study in the pursuit of their career. The general aim of the programme is to educate and train students to become individuals who are morally and socially responsible, culturally informed and effective in communications skills, and capable of self-improvement.
Students are required to complete 18 credits (6 credits of compulsory subjects and 12 credits of elective subjects), of which at least 9 credits should be at level 3 or above, for the fulfillment of the credit requirement of a Minor award. Subject to approval by the Department, students may count up to 6 credits of the CAR subjects offered by the Department of Chinese Culture from the list below to fulfill the electives requirement of the programme. The award titles of both the Major and Minor programmes will be reflected on the award parchment if students successfully complete both programmes.
