10:00 am – 12:00 pm	Open Lecture: “Flipped: Reinventing the Classroom in the Information Age” In the twenty-first century, technology has made it possible for universities to use the Internet for mere information transfer and to use classroom time in ways that dramatically increase learning. Freed from the need to convey information by making students sit and listen, teachers can make the classroom experience more active, more effective, and more enjoyable. 14:15 pm – 16:15 pm	Workshop: “Making Learning Active – A Workshop for Faculties to Lecture Less” Professor Lewis will lead a brainstorming and problem-solving session for faculties interested in experimenting with novel instructional styles. Harry Lewis is Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science at Harvard, where he has taught since 1974. He created much of Harvard’s undergraduate computer science curriculum and is now Director of Undergraduate Studies in Computer Science. He has taught many of Harvard’s remarkable computer science students, including both Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. From 1995-2003 Lewis served as Dean of Harvard College, and in that capacity had general oversight of the experience of all Harvard undergraduates.
