Distinguished duo named Fulbright Scholars

"PolyU Has a Heart" Community Service Learning Programme wins MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship

Two PolyU outstanding scholars have been recently bestowed with the honour of Fulbright Scholar jointly run by the Research Grants Council (RGC) and the Fulbright Programme of the US. They will be off for academic exchange in US institutions in September this year.

The recipients are namely Dr Adolf Ng Koi-yu, Assistant Professor of PolyU’s Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, who was named a senior Fullbright Scholar; and Mr Pan Mingwei, a PhD candidate in Applied Linguistics, who was named a junior scholar.

Dr Adolf Ng obtained his BA in Human Geography and MPhil in Transport Geography from the University of Hong Kong. He completed his DPhil in Transport Geography at University of Oxford, United Kingdom. Dr Ng will spend four months at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Stanford University to conduct research.

Mr Pan Mingwei received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University.  He will be affiliated with the Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
