Introduction to AI and Entrepreneurship Workshop

On 8 & 15 February 2025, the "Introduction to AI and Entrepreneurship" workshop brought together COMP students for a hands-on learning experience. Designed to equip students with the knowledge needed to excel in the examination for getting the certification of "Fundamentals of Deep Learning"  issued by the Nvidia Deep Learning Institute, the workshop combined theoretical knowledge with practical exercises. Students explored key concepts in computer vision and natural language processing, learning to train deep learning models from scratch and discovering tools to achieve impressive results.

Students gained a strong understanding of fundamental techniques and tools for training models, exploring data types and model architectures while enhancing datasets through data augmentation to boost accuracy. The curriculum also covered leveraging transfer learning for efficient results, empowering attendees to tackle their own projects with confidence using modern deep learning frameworks. Key topics included the mechanics of deep learning, pre-trained models, recurrent networks, and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, and a hands-on final project focused on object classification and Proof-of-Concept development.
