On 27 February, a research team led by Prof. Jeff SHEN, Associate Professor of BRE, hosted the symposium ‘Developing a MiC Data Platform for Reusable Modules in the Transitional Housing Projects: Towards a Circular Economy’.

The event drew over 70 professionals from transitional housing operators and NGOs, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and BEAM Society Limited. It provided an overview of the Transitional and Light Public Housing landscape, while also detailing the newly developed data structure, taxonomy and digital identification methodology for reusable MiC modules as well as synthesised stakeholder perspectives and policy implications for MiC data standardisation. The day concluded with a networking reception and hands-on platform demonstration stations.
