The “Global Confucius Institute Hong Kong Forum”, organized by PolyU’s Confucius Institute of Hong Kong (CIHK) and supported by the China International Chinese Language Education Foundation, to be held from 16 to 18 November 2025 in Hong Kong.

 

Background

Since its establishment in 2006, PolyU’s Confucius Institute of Hong Kong has been the only Confucius Institute in Hong Kong. It has been dedicated to building a bridge for international Chinese language education and cultural exchange, and to promoting in-depth dialogue between Chinese culture and the cultures of other countries and regions around the world.

Leveraging Hong Kong’s unique status under the “One Country, Two Systems” principle, the Forum aims to bring together members from Confucius Institutes worldwide, providing a platform for valuable discussions and exchanges under the theme of “Digital-Intelligent Integration · Cultural Mutual Learning”. We will explore new opportunities for Confucius Institute cooperation and innovative development paths for international Chinese language education in the digital and intelligent era. Together, we will further promote Chinese culture and facilitate mutual learning among civilizations.

In this Forum arrange a rich programme, including keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and cultural visits. 

 

Core Value of the Forum

The forum will focus on two key areas: “Digital Intelligence and the Development of Confucius Institutes” and “Innovation in Cross-Cultural Exchange.” It aims to create a collaborative platform for participants through expert keynote speeches, group discussions, and cultural field trip.

The upcoming Hong Kong Forum is expected to be attended by 140 participants from 77 Confucius Institutes across 68 countries.
