This year, two students from the Department of Chinese History and Culture have received two prestigious awards: fourth-year student Wang Yidan was awarded the PolyU ‘Outstanding Student Award’, whilst a year-3 BACHC student, Xu Chang, has been awarded the Presidential Student Leadership Award of the Faculty of Humanities 2025/26.
PolyU organises the Outstanding Student Award Scheme annually to award full-time final-year students who excel in both academic and non-academic pursuits during their studies. Apart from having outstanding academic merits, the awardees should also be well-rounded with aspects such as strong leadership abilities, good personal qualities and conduct, active involvement in extra-curricular activities and community services, and global outlook. The Presidential Student Leadership Award, launched by the University in 2022/23, aims to acknowledge the leadership skills and contributions of students to their local and global communities.
