Bio Note

Doreen D. Wu (PhD from University of Florida, USA) is an associate professor in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her main research areas include Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, Comparative Discourse Studies, Languages and Communications in Greater China, Glocalization & Media Communication. She serves on editorial boards of a number of important international, national and local journals devoted to Linguistics and Cultural Studies; and the journal issues and books she has edited include: Brand China (2017), Intercultural Communication in the Age of Glocalization (2017), (2016), Media Discourses & Cultural Globalization: A Chinese Perspective (2011), Media Discourse in Greater China (2009), and The Discourses of Cultural China in the Globalizing Age (2008). She also serves as member of Board of Directors for International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies (IAICS), and member of Standing Committee for China Association of Intercultural Communication Studies (CAFIC), China Pragmatics Association (CPrA), The Association of Chinese Sociolinguistics, and Public Relations Society of China.
